The Parish of Tuosist is the County Kerry section of the Beara Peninsula. Starting about one mile outside the town of Kenmare, it stretches west along the coast of Kenmare Bay for 23 miles to the County Cork border, just before the village of Ardgroom. The tops of the Caha Mountains mark its southern boundaries.

Enclosed by mountains and sea, Tuosist has some of the most spectacular scenery to be found anywhere in Ireland, with views out to the Atlantic Ocean and across Kenmare Bay to the Ring of Kerry and the majestic range of the Magillicuddy Reeks. In addition to sea and mountain views, there are lakes in abundance, semi-tropical gardens, ancient woodlands, rivers and waterfalls. The hedgerows abound with wild flowers - Montbretia, Fuchsia - and in spring and early summer - Rhododendron in plenty.

Sounds good? It is - do come and visit this peaceful and unspoilt area in South West Kerry. You will not be disappointed and, like so many others who have visited this special place, you will want to come back again.

This site is intended as a resource for visitors, locals, and Tuosist people around the world.
